This Privacy Policy explains my views and practices concerning privacy, and how it affects you as a user of my website.

”I”, ”me”, ”my”, ”mine”, ”we”, ”us”, ”our” are used interchangeably in this privacy statement. That refers to  Kristian Borglund AB, the company that is operating kristianborglund.com, which is also referred to as the Service. The Service also includes other communication means, for example, e-mail. 
 

What your data is used for

In short, your data is used for providing, maintaining and improving my communication with you. 
It may include, but is not limited to:
  • Allowing you to participate in  features of our Service when you choose to do so
  • Customer support
  • Gather analysis so that we can improve our Service
  • Monitor the usage of our Service
  • Detect, prevent and address technical issues
  • Provide you with news, special offers and general information about goods, services and events which we offer or are affiliated with.

Comments
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection. An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
 
Media
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
 
Cookies data & tracking
If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
If you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select "Remember Me", your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.
Tracking technologies also used are beacons, tags, and scripts to collect and track information and to improve and analyze our Service.
You can instruct your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. However, if you do not accept cookies, you may not be able to use some portions of our Service.
 
Newsletters / CRM
You agree that if you opt-in for free updates, information and downloads by entering your email on a form means you are subscribing to free, no-obligation email newsletter(s). No purchases are necessary. We may contact you with marketing or promotional materials and other information that may be of interest to you. If you want to remove yourself from the subscription, just click on the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any e-mail we’ll send you.
We use the e-mail platform Active Campaign (July, 2020, it may change) for managing contacts and subscribers. When we ask you to share things about you, this data is used to personalize your experience with Kristian Borglund AB. To take this further, we also use tracking codes in e-mails being set to you as well as on website pages and posts to be able to adjust the communication with you.
 
Usage data
We may also collect information on how the Service is accessed and used (“Usage Data”). This Usage Data may include information such as your computer’s Internet Protocol address (e.g. IP address), browser type, browser version, the pages of our Service that you visit, the time and date of your visit, the time spent on those pages, unique device identifiers and other diagnostic data.
 

Service Providers

We may employ third party companies and individuals to facilitate our Service, to perform Service-related services or to assist us in analyzing how our Service is used.
These third parties are granted access to your Personal Data only so that can perform these tasks on our behalf, and they are obligated not to disclose or use your data for any other purpose.
 

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
If you sign up for newsletters and share your information or to get access to digital products or other information this information, this is also retained as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy.
 

Transfer of data

Your information, including Personal Data, may be transferred to — and maintained on — servers and computer located outside of your city, region, state, province, country or other governmental jurisdiction where the data protection laws may be different than those from your jurisdiction area.
In July 2020, we used the e-mail platform Active Campaign, located in the United States, for managing contacts and subscribers.
Your consent to this Privacy Policy followed by your submission of such information represents your agreement to that transfer.
 

Disclosure for Law Enforcement

Kristian Borglund AB may be required by law to disclose your Personal Data. In such instances, we may disclose data to comply with a legal obligation, investigate wrongdoings related to the Service, to protect our rights or property,to protect against legal liability, or to protect the personal safety of users or the public.
 

The rights you have over your data

If you have an account on kristianborglund.com, or have opted in for digital communication with us, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you, or update it. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Please note that we may ask you to verify your identity before responding to such requests.
 

Embedded content from other online sources

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
